The sun did that thing it rarely does during the long, gloomy winter months here — it came out to play! I knew I was going to hang out with Soleil until she got bored and went home to California or Fiji or wherever she normally winters. Ready to be with her for the long haul, I wanted to wear something fashionable but I needed to be comfortable. And since her nippy sister, Windy, invited herself along, I needed something warm.
I swear this coat has better hair days than I do sometimes. The shag is perfection. And so soft. The lining is leather, which I thought wouldn’t work well against a chill, being that most shearling jackets are typically the reverse. I stood happily corrected.
Underneath that, a sweatshirt dress. That doesn’t sound too exciting, does it? Until you peep the sleeves. Exaggerated balloons of material that encase the arms like floaties in the shallow end of the pool. Lined with cuddle soft fleece, I was nice and toasty and almost a little thankful for Windy’s intrusion.
Nothing says comfortable like a slip-on sneaker. Emblazon it with a tiger and this chica is down. And because I usually require a little extra, fishnets were not even a question. The question was “What color fishnets?”
So me and Soleil hung out until the evening, our future being so bright I needed those huge shades.
I carried a bag that I have loved for years, with just enough studs to confuse TSA and just enough room to fit everything but the kitchen sink.
As far as the hair, you know that old saying: Sun’s up, buns up! A great hangout overall.
Hope good days were had by all!
Peace Yinz,
Dita
